Milestones

Month 6 · 8 milestones

Note for parents

What’s happening

Half a year. Your baby knows the people in their life and has clear favorites. They laugh freely and respond to their name. Babbling includes vowel sounds strung together, and they're experimenting with volume. Sitting with support is happening, and they can bear weight on their legs when you hold them standing. Everything goes in the mouth, which is actually how they learn about texture and shape. Solid foods may be starting this month.

For you

Six months. You've learned a whole new language, the one made of cries and coos and facial expressions. You understand this tiny person better than anyone on earth.
