What’s happening
Your toddler is starting to notice that things come in different shapes and colors. Sorting toys and simple puzzles are getting interesting. "No" is a word they use constantly, and they mean it every time. They can kick a ball now, which makes backyard time more fun. Building with blocks is getting more deliberate, less random stacking and more intentional structures.
For you
Hearing "no" all day is draining. But your toddler is learning to assert themselves, and that's a skill that will serve them well their whole life.
