The 30-month developmental check is a good time to bring up any concerns. Trust your instincts as a parent. Button batteries are extremely dangerous if swallowed. They can cause serious internal burns within two hours. Keep remotes, key fobs, and small electronics out of reach or secured.
You can see their personality clearly now. The way they laugh, what makes them curious, how they comfort a friend. You helped shape all of that.

Secure all battery compartments with tape or screws. Keep loose batteries locked away. If swallowing is suspected, go to the ER immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
Some pediatricians schedule a 30-month visit. Even without a formal visit, this is a good time to check developmental milestones.
Review CDC developmental milestones for 30 months. Contact your pediatrician if toddler doesn't use 2-word phrases, doesn't know what to do with familiar objects, or doesn't copy actions and words.
