Note for parents

Keep an eye on

If you're transitioning to a toddler bed, keep the room safe. Anchor all furniture, cover outlets, and keep the floor clear at night. Sun safety matters for outdoor play. Toddler skin burns fast, so use sunscreen and hats even on cloudy days.

For you

Every jump they land, they look at you first. You're still the person whose reaction matters most. Hold onto that.

Caution

Toddler bed transition safety

If transitioning from crib to toddler bed, the entire room must be child-proofed since toddler can roam freely.

What to do

Secure furniture to walls. Cover outlets. Remove choking hazards. Install a gate at the bedroom door or top of stairs. Use a bed rail to prevent rolling out.

Caution

Sun safety

Toddlers spending more time outdoors need sun protection. Their skin is more sensitive to UV damage than adults.

What to do

Apply SPF 30+ sunscreen 15 minutes before going outside. Reapply every 2 hours. Use hats and UV-protective clothing. Seek shade during peak hours (10am-2pm).
