As your baby gets stronger and starts moving a bit more, watch out for rolling. It can happen suddenly and for the first time when you least expect it. Never leave baby unattended on a changing table, bed, or couch, even if they haven't rolled yet. Double-check that the car seat is still properly fitted as baby grows. Now is a good time to plan ahead for baby-proofing, because mobility is coming faster than you think.
Three months. The fourth trimester is over. If you survived the hardest stretch of newborn life, you can handle what comes next. And the laughing? That's your reward.
Baby may start rolling unexpectedly. Never leave baby unattended on elevated surfaces like changing tables, beds, or couches. Always keep one hand on baby.
Always keep one hand on baby during diaper changes. Gather all supplies before placing baby on the changing table. If you need to step away, place baby in the crib or on the floor first.
As baby grows, check that the car seat still fits properly. The harness should be at or below shoulder level for rear-facing seats. Never use an expired or recalled seat.
